This fund memorializes a public spirited citizen whose accidental death cut short a promising career as a town official. Mr. Almeida was chairman of the Wakefield Finance Committee when he was killed in an automobile accident in 1965. A graduate of MIT and a registered professional engineer, he was business manager for research and development with Arthur D. Little Research Associates. He resided in Greenwood for 16 years and was active in the Greenwood Union Church. His widow Katherine died in 1995.
