George Douglas & Jennie Moores Dalton Fund

Mrs. Laura B. (Dalton) Jones initiated this fund in memory of her parents after her father’s death in 1971. Both of her parents were natives of Newfoundland. Mr. Dalton was an elevator constructor in Boston for 50 years. Mrs. Dalton worked with young people, particularly those who were ill, spending time with young patients at the North Reading Sanitarium. At the time of her death in 1991, Mrs. Jones had lived in Wakefield for 50 years. She was a past President of the Kosmos Club and the Greenwood Women’s Club. She had been a director of the E. E. Boit Home for Women and was a Past Worthy Advisor of the Glendale Chapter, O. E. S.
