James P. Cooney Fund

Mr. Cooney was a Guidance Counselor at Wakefield Junior High School at the time of his death in November 1986. He taught English and Driver Training as well as organizing intramural sports. He acted as Summer School Director. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his willingness to listen and volunteer. He was a World War II veteran seeing action in the Invasion of Normandy and at the Battle of the Bulge. He is remembered for his dedication to the young people of Wakefield for more than 38 years.
